Jan 22 - 28

Notable things of the week:
  • First time at a book club - discussing The Secret of Pembrooke Park.
  • I had a girls night with Melissa and Mom while Ross took the girls to a Veggietales movie at church.
  • First Daddy/Daughter Dance for Ross and Bella.
  • Our new nephew, Elijah David, was born!

Thur - 1/22 - Nothing new happened during the day. In the evening I joined mom for a book club. The book was The Secret of Pembrooke Park, which I read and reviewed earlier in the month. We had a good time and the discussion went well. Mostly we tried to catch one lady up on the book since she didn't finish it and wanted the details. We set another book and date for next month so I'm going to join them again for that.

Fri - 1/23 - Lilly and I were lazy during the day today but I got a few things done around the house. Then in the evening after we had dinner Ross took the girls to a movie night at the church. They were showing a new Veggietales movie called "Beauty and the Beet", and then having pie because today is National Pie Day. They had a good time and then the girls insisted on having a "sleepover" together. Lilly slept in Bella's room. They did pretty well with each other according to Ross, so that was good. While all this was happening I had a girls night out with Mom and Melissa since this is Melissa's last weekend of freedom before Elijah is born. We went to Max & Erma's for dinner and then to Michael's (the store) to shop and then back to Mom's house to just hang out and talk. It was nice. I also got to ride in Melissa's new van, which is really nice and full of cool features.

Sat - 1/24 - We spent the morning doing the usual, laundry and just hanging out. Skyped with Pat at 11 and then Ross was off to play some board games with friends. The girls and I had lunch, then I gave them baths and we went to the library to get some new books. Mom came over around 4 and hung out while I got Bella ready for the dance - curling her hair. Ross got home after 5 and got ready and then they were off the Daddy/Daughter dance at the Fairfield Community Arts Center. They had a great time. They were served spaghetti and meatballs, cupcakes, and snow-cones. They also had their picture taken and danced the night away. Mom, Lilly and I went to Ikea to get something for Mom and we picked up a couple new laundry hampers. In the late evening I went over to Dad's house to visit with him and Sarah who came in for Elijah's birth on Monday.

Sun - 1/25 - I got Lilly to go to church again and afterwards we brought our McDonald's home. We didn't do much but play around and relax. I even got a nap that lasted almost 2 hrs. It was just a nice relaxing day.

Mon - 1/26 - Ross took the day off to spend with the girls so I could go to the hospital to be with Melissa and see my new nephew, Elijah David. He was born around 8:50 and weighed 7 lbs. and 8 oz. He is the cutest little thing and does look like a mix of Joe and Moe, just like Nate. Nate was super excited to meet him. Dad, Belinda, Sarah and I went out to Frisch's for lunch and then back to the hospital to hold him again. Then Sarah and I went to Clothes Mentor where she helped me pick out some new tops that I really needed. It was fun shopping during the day with her (we usually only get to go out at night). And then I went back home to eat dinner with the family. Ross had made pork in the crock-pot. Then he went to the hospital to meet Eli while I gave the girls baths and played with them. After they were in bed I went back to Dad's to watch a movie with him, B, and Sarah. We watched Good Will Hunting and then just sat around talking until nearly 1am.

Tues - 1/27 - Lilly and I were lazy this morning, just watching shows and playing together. I got a load of laundry done and some dishes, but other than that there wasn't much. At 2:15 we went and got some Hershey Kisses from CVS because we hadn't had them in a while and headed to Mom's house. She was catching up on sleep after spending the night with Melissa last night (while Joe kept Nate at home). She then took Lilly back home while I went to my doctor's appointment. My BP was high (150/80) and so I'm back on my meds for that. He looked at my sore foot - my Achilles tendon has been in pain for more than a few months. He's referring me to a podiatrist and suggested stretching it and taking Aleve for the swelling and pain. I also asked to get my A1C done so I can see how my sugars are but I couldn't get it done today. I will try later this week to do that. Anyway, after I came back home Mom left and we all had "Tuesday Special", which is spaghetti and meat sauce. Late in the evening Bella told me she had homework due tomorrow! So we had to read a book together and write some notes on a paper for that.

Wed - 1/28 - Today was pretty typical. We headed out after lunch to church to set up for Gospel Project. Then after Bella got home Julia came over to play until dinner time. Bella and I went to church after that and when we came home we all relaxed and then it was time for bed.
