- We tried the Chicken Fried Rice Hamburger Helper for the first time.
- I ran the Star Card Cart at Bella's school for the first time.
- Bella and I went to our first Movie night at South.
- We went to Caroline's first birthday party.
- We took the girls to the mall and bought Bella's dress for the daddy/daughter dance.
Thurs - 1/15 - During the day Lilly and I went to the bank. That was about it. I finished the book I was reading and picked up another at the library. I made Chicken Fried Rice (using a Hamburger Helper - for chicken). It turned out pretty good. Ross went to see a movie in the evening so I got to put both the girls to bed.
Fri - 1/16 - Ross woke up feeling bad so he took the day off work. It worked out because I dropped Lilly off at Nate's house with Mom watching them both so I could go to Bella's school and work. I ran the "Star Card Cart" table. If kids get 20 star cards they can bring them to the table and pick a prize once a month. It was fun to see some of the kids I know from church and the community and the teachers/staff told me the appreciated me taking over this job. And Bella got to eat lunch with me as well, so it was a fun time. Then I went and picked up Lilly. We went to Target to look at presents for Caroline but didn't decide on anything yet. In the evening Bella and I went back to her school for the Family Movie night. I helped out with taking money at the door and then running the popcorn machine. It was really fun and Bella enjoyed the movie (Mr. Peabody and Sherman) and hanging out with her friends. Then we went to Target and picked up the toy for Caroline and headed back home for bed.
Sat - 1/17 - We spent most of the morning cleaning and playing games and Skyping with Pat. Then in the afternoon more playing and I got to take a nap. At 4 we went to Andy and Rosetta's for Caroline's first birthday party. We had a good time and Caroline got a lot of nice gifts. She had a cute cake too and her own "smash" cake that she dug into. After the kids went to bed, we began to watch the movie "Boyhood", which is up for a few Oscars this year. It was long though so we couldn't watch it all in one go.
Sun - 1/18 - Today I had to take both girls to church since Ross would be out gaming. Lately Lilly has been fighting about going, so I bribed her. If she was good then we would eat at McDonald's after church instead of going through the drive-thru and bringing it home. This is a big deal for the girls, so she behaved well and earned her prize. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and playing, ending in baths and last shows/snacks. After the kids were in bed we watched the rest of "Boyhood".
Mon - 1/19 - Since it's Martin Luther King Jr. Day Ross and Bella had the day off work and school. On Saturday they are going to a father/daughter dance so we tried on one of Ross's suits to see if something still fits and thankfully one did. Bella needed a new dress though so we decided to take a trip to the mall. We found a nice dress at Macy's and Lilly got a new one too. We looked at Children's place, but they didn't have any we liked for the dance, though they had some cute Easter dresses out already. Then we went to the food court where Ross and I had some Thai while the girls had Subway for lunch. They also played on the movable cars that are in the middle of the cart. Thankfully we'd pre-planned to have some quarters with us. Afterwards Ross and I went to Suncoast (one at a time while the other watched the kids) and I found a couple of movies that I wanted. Then it was home to relax. In the evening Bella and I decided to try out a new hairstyle and we wrapped her hair around hair pins and pinned them with bobby pins. It turned out pretty cute and super curly.
Tues - 1/20 - Nothing much today. Back to school and work for Bella and Ross. Lilly and I got some cleaning done around the house and played inside and outside since the weather was nice (around 55 at the highest point). We also made a trip to the post office to mail Pat's Christmas money (really late! Ugh). In the evening we had Marco's pizza because it's Dine to Donate night at the school. Then it was baths and bed for the girls.
Wed - 1/21 - Today Time Warner Cable had to send a rep out because yesterday we stopped being able to see our TV guide and our DVR list on the TV. Thankfully it only took about an hour to diagnose and we were given a new cable box. Unfortunately that means we lost everything we had recorded and our scheduled recordings, but we'll get over it. Later Lilly and I set up Gospel Project stuff at church and then in the evening Bella and I went to that.
