March 26 - April 1

Notable things of the week:

  • I got an inflammation in my eye that required medication.
  • I went to Melissa's to visit and see Nate's room rearrangement and hold Eli.
  • I finally got around to mostly finishing our Taxes through TurboTax.
  • Bella, Ross and I saw the Wizard of Oz at the Community Arts Center.
  • We had a very cold Easter Egg hunt at Melissa's church.
  • We went to Mom's for lunch and hanging out.
  • Bella's new bike arrived in the mail, Lilly's was bought at Target, and Ross put them both
  • together!
  • Dad and B went out with us for Sunday lunch and then came over for a visit.
  • We started Spring Break with games and playing outside in the beautiful weather.

The details:

Thur - Mar 26 - Last night I started to have an itchy pain in my left eye and by morning it was still red and in pain. So I had to take Lilly with me to Dr. Hogue's to see what it was. Turns out I have an inflammation in my left eye and the start of it in my right. So I have drops to take multiple times a day and I have to wear glasses for a week. Not thrilled, but glad it's not pink-eye. In the evening I had book club even though I didn't finish the book. But it was fun to get out and afterwards I went to Melissa's house for a short visit and got to hold Eli and see Nate's room rearrangement! It was a nice break to be out.

Fri - Mar 27 - Nothing much new happened today. I got our taxes stuff together finally to realize that our accountant's cut off date was a week ago. So we decided to use TurboTax for the first time. So far so good, but it's not finished yet so we'll see how that goes. In the evening Ross and I took Bella to see the Wizard of Oz at the Community Arts Center in Fairfield. We met Melissa and Nate there. Unfortunately Nate was scared of the witch and they had to leave about halfway through. Bella stuck it out but her fear of open spaces at theaters was still there. She was a bit scared and clung pretty tightly to me. But she enjoyed the play and wants to go back someday. Melissa took Nate back to our house since Mom was there with Lilly and they played for a while and Bella joined them once we got home. But they didn't stay long since tomorrow was an early day.

Sat - Mar 28 - In the morning we went to Melissa and Joe's church to have an Easter Egg hunt. It was fun and of course the kids had a blast. But it was VERY cold and I got wind chapped and the kids had red faces and hands. And the church decided they wouldn't allow people to use the restroom there, so after the hunt we had to go to a nearby gas station to use the restroom. Very unthoughtful of the church. But we had a good time overall. Then we went to Mom's house for an impromptu get together and had lunch and hung out. The girls were thrilled to have time to play with Nate. Next we came home and hung out and I took a nap. When I woke up Bella's bike had arrived via FedEx but it had to be built. I also found out that Lilly's bike order had been cancelled (thanks stupid Toys R Us for dashing her hopes!). So the two of us went to Target to find her a new bike while Bella and Ross put Bella's together. When we got home he had to build Lilly's bike, but it was easier since he'd just done that. The girls are thrilled with them. We also bought Hungry Hungry Hippo while we were out, and that was a lot of fun (noisy though!).

Sun - Mar 29 - Today we had church and afterwards Dad and Belinda (who had gone to church) went with us to McDonalds and we ate there. Then Dad and B came over to visit and hang out for a while. Afterwards we just played and did stuff around the house and then the girls got baths after Ross came home.

Mon - Mar 30 - Today is the first day of Bella's Spring Break. So far we have been having a lot of fun. The girls have watched a few shows on Netflix together (mostly Monster High and Lalaloopsy) and we've all had breakfast. Then Lilly hosted a tea party for us and now the girls are playing with the Wii. Later we played outside and then came back in and baked chocolate chip cookies together. Then more TV and back outside to play and blow bubbles. It was busy but a lot of fun. The girls decided to have a picnic tomorrow for lunch so after dinner they cleaned the living room and had a pretend picnic to practice.

Tues - Mar 31 - We had a less exciting day today, but it was still fun. The girls had wanted to do a picnic yesterday, but I held them off until today. But they talked about it so much in the morning that I gave in by 11am and we had our early lunch out in the front yard. It was another nice weather day today. The girls were outside a lot and then crashed inside watching TV. In the evening we had a nice conversation over dinner discussing things like what we want to be when we grow up. And other questions like that. The girls had baths and last shows. Mom came over late because she was meeting someone to pick up a swing at the library. I came over there because you just never know about these people. But it all went well and I was back in time to put Bella to bed.

Wed - Apr 1- It was a beautiful day today. We got some stuff done inside and then we took some dresses that Lilly had outgrown to Reruns for WeeOnes. We ended up getting enough store credit to buy 3 new t-shirts for each girl. And the girls were really well behaved inside the store. Then we came home and planned to eat lunch and go to the library but Julia was out so Bella went over there and Lilly and I had lunch and played both in and outdoors back and forth. We'll save the library for tomorrow. Anyway, it was a quiet day after that. Just playing and then relaxing before and after dinner until bedtime.
